To a typical fan who saw New Mexico’s winless record and the lopsided 49-7 end result of Saturday’s game against Nevada, the victory may have seemed like an easy thing to predict.
That’s easy to rationalize when you consider the Wolf Pack (3-3) had more than twice the offensive production (598 total yards compared to 257), converted 75 percent of third downs compared to New Mexico’s 31 percent and scored on 6-of-7 red zone opportunities compared to 1-of-2 for the Lobos (0-6).
